Trina, a registered physiotherapist, received her qualifications from the University of South Australia in Adelaide, Australia. Her fascination with movement stems from a history of dance, gymnastics, golf and figure skating. Equipped with a strong manual therapy background, her approach to treatment involves restoring optimal posture and alignment, mobilizing stiff joints, releasing tight soft tissues, muscle strengthening, enhancing core muscle control and correcting biomechanics. Following courses in muscle energy techniques (an osteopathic approach), she found great successes in treating pelvic and thoracic dysfunctions by using gentle muscle contractions that guide the joint into the desired position. Sacro-iliac joint and thoracic ribs became areas of great interest.
Recently, having trained in the integrated systems model, she is able to build on the foundation of her previous knowledge and experience to encompass a much more global and whole-body integrated approach to patient care. This approach gets to the root cause of the problem and addresses a patient’s core issues. It works by removing the physical barriers to recovery and connecting neural pathways that switch on the right muscles at the right time, thereby creating posture and movement that is balanced, aligned and beautiful.
Her role is to assist you to achieve your personal goals, whether to reduce neck and back pain, restore function to an injured part, run the marathon, play better golf or just to move and feel better. It gives her great joy to be able to empower you to move with freedom, minimal pain and to experience fullness of health.
If this is your first appointment, booking for at least 60 minutes will allow enough time to thoroughly review your health history, design and deliver an appropriate treatment plan, and provide home care prescriptions.
